The Summer School of Forensic Psychology at the Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka” had a particularly significant academic moment today — a guest lecture by Prof. Dr. Slobodan Savić, one of the most renowned experts in the field of forensic medicine.
The lecture was dedicated to forensic medical analysis and expert examination of complex cases of homicide, suicide, accidental deaths, and domestic violence, with special emphasis on the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in understanding criminal acts against life and bodily integrity.
Through authentic examples from his extensive professional practice, Prof. Dr. Savić introduced participants to the ways in which forensic medicine contributes to the reconstruction of events, understanding injury mechanisms, proper interpretation of evidence, and reaching expert conclusions of exceptional importance in judicial proceedings.
Particular attention was drawn to topics connecting forensic psychology, forensic medicine, and law — from distinguishing homicide, suicide, and sudden death, through injury analysis and documentation of evidence, to recognizing patterns of domestic violence and expert interpretation of findings before the court.
The Summer School participants, including psychology and law students, graduates, and practitioners, actively participated in the discussion and asked numerous questions, turning the lecture into a dynamic and highly stimulating professional dialogue.
Participants’ reactions were extremely positive. It was particularly emphasized that meeting an expert of this caliber provided valuable insight into real-world practice, as well as a better understanding of the connection between theoretical knowledge and its application in complex forensic and judicial procedures.
