Prof. Dr. Filip Đoković, Dean of the Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka” and General Manager of the Crni Vrh Hotel on Divčibare, participated as a panelist at the international professional conference SPORT TOUR 2026, held at Jahorina.
The SPORT TOUR conference represents one of the most significant regional platforms for discussions on the development of sports tourism, destination management, sports events, and new business models in tourism. This year’s edition gathered numerous domestic and international experts from the fields of sports, tourism, hospitality, public administration, investments, sports organizations, and media, with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experiences, and concrete development initiatives in the field of sports tourism.
Prof. Dr. Filip Đoković participated in the panel “From Empty Rooms to a Full Season – How Sport Is Changing the Hospitality Business?”, together with managers of renowned hotels from the region and representatives of the sports tourism sector. The panel focused on how sports camps, professional team training programs, recreational activities, sports events, and active tourism can become powerful tools for extending the season, increasing hotel occupancy, and strengthening the competitiveness of destinations.
In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Đoković presented models for the development of sports tourism from the perspective of modern hotel management, particularly through the example of the Crni Vrh Hotel on Divčibare, which has positioned itself as the best sports hotel in Serbia and as an important educational base for the Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka”. Special emphasis was placed on connecting hotel operations, sports facilities, professional staff, academic knowledge, and practical training for students.
Through the example of the Crni Vrh Hotel, Prof. Dr. Đoković highlighted that sports tourism is no longer merely an additional segment of hotel offerings, but one of the key development directions for mountain and year-round destinations. Sports teams, clubs, academies, recreational guests, and event organizers require a high level of service professionalization, precise capacity planning, quality nutrition, recovery programs, logistics, medical and recreational support, and facilities capable of meeting the needs of different guest categories.
It was particularly emphasized that the Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka”, through the educational base of the Crni Vrh Hotel, is developing a model in which higher education, practical training, and a real hotel system are connected into a unified whole. In this way, students have the opportunity to understand contemporary trends in hospitality and tourism directly through practice, by working in a complex hotel environment that integrates accommodation, gastronomy, wellness, conference facilities, and sports-recreational programs.
The participation of Prof. Dr. Filip Đoković at the SPORT TOUR 2026 conference confirms the strategic commitment of the Faculty “Eduka” to actively contribute to the development of modern models of education, hospitality, and sports tourism. At the same time, this participation further highlights the importance of connecting the academic community and the business sector, particularly in areas representing the future of regional tourism — sports, health, active leisure, sustainable destination development, and professional hotel management.
